What brought you to CrossFit in the first place?
Originally, I started doing CrossFit because I was getting bored and not seeing results when I worked out by myself. I wanted something to help me have fun and motivate me enough to get great results.
What was your first impression? How has that changed?
My first impression was that everyone around me was so strong, so fit, and I felt out of shape and not able to do so many things that they could. I didn’t really do squats or deadlifts, let alone handstand push-ups or other things. Now, several years later, I know that I can do so much that would have been impossible when I first started.
What was your first highlight?
Feeling comfortable and strong doing squats. My mobility was terrible when I started so it was a great achievement to feel comfortable and good in a squat position.
What are you working on improving now in CrossFit?
So very many things: Snatches, overhead squats, handstand push-ups, overall mobility, leg endurance.. and too many more to list.
What is your favorite CrossFit Westmount memory?
I think my favourite moment was doing 17.5. To be clear, I didn’t enjoy 17.5, but I really enjoyed so many people there cheering me on even though I wanted to quit. It’s a wonderful group of people who want to see people reach their goals.
