The Current Situation

COVID-19 has currently changed the way we live and work. It has impacted the way in which we socialize with our family and friends and how we plan on operating for the next few weeks & months.  The great news however is the government of Quebec is allowing gyms to reopen starting Monday, June 22nd.

Our Mission

CrossFit Westmount will Re-Open the physical gym for in-person coaching on June 22nd, 2020 while simultaneously supporting members who prefer to continue to workout at-home.

Execution

We intend to re-open via a methodical and phased approach to return to in-person training safely.  Our Re-open plan will be conducted in the following phases:

  • Common to all phases.  The safety measures outlined in Annex A (Click Here) will apply in some / all phases of our re-opening.  We will communicate the changes with you as we are able to ease off certain precautions.  In addition, online training via our online platform will be available for members wanting to stay home for the next few weeks & months.

  • Phase 1 – Planning & Preparation.  This phase began when we closed our doors on March 16th and pivoted to online training.  It involves meeting virtually with gym owners, consulting with industry experts on best practice, researching safety procedures and purchasing tools & equipment in light of current situation. Though we will continue to evaluate our plans and make adjustments in all phases, this phase ends on June 21st.

  • Phase 2 – Restart Group Classes and Athletic Therapy.  This phase will begin on June 22nd.  In this phase, all services will be by appointment only:  all members must sign in ahead of time prior to joining a class and we will not have any drop ins or walk ins join our group classes.  With that said, we will still welcome new members via a virtual consultation which will be done over zoom (Book Consult Here).  Initial priority for on boarding back into our group class programs will be first to current members, then to new members joining the program.  This phase will end once we begin to reintroduce 1:1 training in our facility (i.e. personal training, foundations, specialty programs, etc.).

  • Phase 3 – Group + Athletic Therapy + 1:1 Training  This phase will begin when we re-introduce 1:1 training in our facility (i.e. personal training, foundations, specialty programs, etc.) on top of the service offerings from Phase 2.  Services will remain by appointment only and new member consultations will continue to occur over zoom.  This phase will end when we can host large workouts inside our gym.

  • Phase 4 – Large Groups.  This phase will start once we are able to increase our indoor class capacity to accommodate groups that exceed 20 people and includes all services offerings from Phase 3.  We anticipate the return of drop ins in this phase and in person consultations.  In addition, we anticipate all programs and services to be running again.

  • Care: We will continue to help members improve their fitness regardless of their choice to train in the physical gym or continue with our online platform. We will continue to engage members in our private FB group

Calendar at a Glance

  • June 18th – Member Screening & Intake Form Sent to CFW Members
  • June 19th – CFW Team meetings & walkthroughs.  Cleaners will be in to make sure the gym has been deep cleaned.
  • June 20th – Group class schedule will be open for registration.
  • June 21st – Open Office Hours and Q&A over Zoom from 5pm to 7pm. (Click here for Zoom Meeting Link)
  • June 22nd – Group Classes will resume in the gym

  • Group Class Programming. We realize many of you haven’t touched a barbell or cardio machine in almost 3 months.  Rest assured we will make sure you get fun workouts while also easing you back safely to keep you all injury free.

  • Specialty Programs. We will evaluate our group class schedule and then look for an ideal time to host a strength program once we get to phase 3.  It will be conducted in small groups (4 participants) and participants will have access to the rig.  Email info@crossfitwestmount.com if you are interested.

  • Updated Group Class Schedule – To be released and open for bookings as of noon on Saturday, June 20th.

  • Happy Hour.  We will continue hosting happy on Fridays at 6:30pm to 7:30pm during these times.  If it helps just one person connect with friendly faces, we will keep it going!  (Link to Join)

  • Members Private FB Group.  We intend to continue providing high value content in the group and maintain connection with our community whether you choose to workout in the gym or at-home.
