  2. Make an appointment with yourself.

Starting a new habit and routine is difficult. Make it a priority. Block off time in your calendar for your health & wellness and don’t miss your appointment with yourself.
    .

  3. It is okay to miss a day or two.

It’s okay if you miss a day or two when life gets busy. Just pick up where you left off and try not to miss two days in a row. Think “progress not perfection”.
    .

  4. It is okay to have an “off” day.

There will be days when you just feel “off.” and it may be harder to get started. It’s okay. Performance is impacted by many things such as sleep, nutrition, life’s stressors, etc. Don’t get discouraged. Just “show up” on these days.
    .

  5. Make sure to take your rest days.

Rest days are key! Rest gives your body a chance to recover and rebuild. Over training will negatively impact your progress and performance.
    .

  6. Make a small space for your workouts.

Make a space in your home that you can work out in.  The good news is it does not need to take up much space.  Aim for a spot that is about 7 feet by 7 feet.
    .

  7. Minimal Equipment required.

If you still can, go out and buy a kettle bell or a set of dumbbells. Select a weight that you would normally use in a conditioning workout (25 or 35lb kettlebells are common, as are 20 / 30- lb. dumbbells). This will be your primary piece of at-home fitness equipment. Don’t worry: You can stay very fit with just one kettlebell or dumbbell.
    .
